Hobbies for Everyone

Honestly does not matter what you do, what matters is that you do it.

Like the saying in another area of study, "What good does it do for man or women to go through thier whole lives never understanding the true power of their minds or bodies.

Thank you for coming to my site.

I have to say I never had to much time for hobbies, like music, or carving wood, photography, editing pictures, or video.

There is a whole world of things you could be doing in your spare time instead of watching TV. Even if it is a little every day it is something you should look into. I started to do a few things while at home and could not believe how some of the arts that I never tried my whole life came alive within a very short time.

You know, one day I was injured so badly I could not do the martial arts that I had trained my whole life. I found myself bed ridden for the first seven years during the winters, When my injury would flair up so bad, when I did try to go and do my martial arts, I would have to lie on the floor to teach. The thing is I went, I tried and I failed, but the main thing was I tried. For a good seven years I tried, once my pig headed nature told me it was fruitless, I had to find something to take it's place, I had to do things that I could not ever do in my previous life. That was when I found computers, that was when I found a whole world of arts that I had not ever thought of trying, from writing, " I know I will never be good at this", but I have to try to explain myself. So this is it, whether I am good at it or not, I think I get the point across to people and is that not the main point of it. Who really cares how well I can write, to get the message out is the true nature of what I am trying to do now. All I can say is if I can do it, you can do it. One area of art I want to do so badly is playing an instrumate, some day soon it is going to be the paino, or organ, or electric organ to put things in better perspective, that way I can create the sounds of all instrumates and create my own music in time. I know every thing we do needs practise, but what does someone do that is home all day unable to go to work. Being able to last at anything for under twenty minutes is not going to get you a job, but what it can do is every twenty minutes on the hour you can be doing something that adds up if you did it four times a day. And if you did it steady and did not start and stop, or start and find you suck at it large and give up right away. That is like people I know who have tried to juggle, they start out with good intentions and after a few days find they still can't do it, they try and try and still find they cannot do it the way that they feel they should be able too. Mostly not realizing that every one that did learn how to juggle took a lot of time to get the skill to do it properly, everything takes time, but that is the one thing that each and everyone of us has. Especially those of us that are with injuries or illness.

How do we know what we can do unless we try. Sure with many things you need training, some people don't, and that is fine, I am not one of them. For music, I would need a teacher, but when someone bought a carving set for Xmas, away I went, not knowing what I would do, what type of wood. It all came together. Had a lot of pine board lying around property. So one day I started to carve away, not knowing the first thing about it, all of a sudden a face started to appear, it was amazing, it freaked me out because I had no training. I started to carve other body parts, like a hand, some people told me to carve a hand is very hard to do, but for me it felt natural. The point I am trying to make is you can do it, there is something out there you have never tired before, and you do not even know that you have skill in that area of art that would be better then most as long as you gave it your all.

I also started to take a lot of pictures.  I brought my camera every where I went. Soon enough it did turn into a hobby, again very surprised at what came out of my pictures. I started to read more about shutter speeds and other areas and it soon all fell together and turned into a good pass time for me. I took many pictures all my life dealing with a cirtain area, but that area was also taken away from me because of injury, because of that I turned to other areas bringing with me my experince of all those years of training. Not saying I was that good at it, but I do not know another person that could get an action shot I could, again all because of a cirtain area I was part of.

So this part of the web site is going to be mine, my very own place to talk about hobbies, carving, pictures, video's, and flower gardens. Thanks for coming and soon I will have a lot of things here for people to see. One area that intregues me is to take pictures of wildlife, that is more rewarding than most other things I have done in my life.
