Push hands

Both Sifu Gallant and Sifu Dee have been working on Push hands for years. First you have to learn how to do single push hands forwards, single punch hands side way, double push hands in one spot, double push hands moving in various determined patterns. Then you learn to move with your partner in a free style push hands, using all of the motions that you learned, except now trying to help each other into and out of techniques, the thing is, as westerners with all the sports we have, there are some from the west who think right away of beating your partner up, and then you win, yippee you win. This is not at all what it is to be like with Chinese training, you have to get away from win or loose, and start to think about living and dying. Plus when you do your push hands together with your partner instead of against, the sky is the limit for what you will learn. Lets face it, we miss so much when going to fast, we can't feel it, we can't see it half the time, and we can't move properly with exactness. We really have to get way from being competitive, which can cause you to learn less then more. I know it is hard to explain, but I want you to think about it and then ask your instructor about this. See what he or she says.

Now when these two do push hands it is something to watch, truly something.
