Pembroke Ontario is one of the most peaceful little towns in Ontario Canada. We sit beside the Ottawa river, north west of Ottawa, across the Ottawa river is the Province of Quebec. We live in what is known as a valley, the Ottawa Valley, but on all sides we have mountainous areas. Across to the Quebec side, only fifteen minutes from Pembroke you are already in the Mountains of Quebec. If you drive from Pembroke towards a southerly direction, you quickly come to the mountains that are twenty miles south of Pembroke. Not very large mountains, but high enough for our area. The highest Mountain in all of Ontario, is only forty miles south of Pembroke. We have Algonquin Park to our west, and the east gate is only twelve miles from Pembroke. Algonquin is an incredible park and is one of the best places I remember from my youth. Back soon with a lot more on Pembroke:
