Sifu Nomis was a student of Master Fiedler over Twenty years ago, until the
day he had to go to university. When he left Pembroke, he was already a Black
belt with Sifu Fiedler. When in university, he could not understand why he could
not find anyone with the knowledge taught at Sifu Fiedlers schools. He was very
dispointed, but that did not stop him from joining various clubs to keep up his
training in the martial arts. He trained in all types, not one of the higher
level black belts from those styles could stand up to his sparing, that in of
itself taught him a valuable lesson, "What he was taught works", and what Sifu
Fiedler taught all the students about the difference between styles, systems and
methods of teaching were all correct.
There was no secrets Master Fiedler used
to tell us, only a good teacher and hard training. This is where there is a lot
of misunderstanding because what stands for a good teacher. "Back with that
soon"
One thing I can tell you it is not a student that leaves his teacher
prematurely, at the level below forth degree black belt and starts teaching. Or
before he is given a teaching degree by his teacher "which is what is done in
the Chinese martial arts". So many students leave to early, they never learn
what is inside the art they are learning, and that is why we see so many watered
down styles and systems this day and age.
