Hung Kuen Linking

[Under Construction]

Short Form

Hung Kuen Linking Form

Start of a very basic form that is good for basic students learning how to step, how to block, how to punch, and kick. However learning a form like this on its own leaves the student with absolutely no knowledge of the martial arts. What they will learn is basics, and that is short of what true martial arts technique is. This form is very good, but remember it is basics, and that is it. I must say with all honesty, without these basics, you have absolutely terrible advanced technique, so it is a two edged sword. With out good basics, you can not have great advanced technique, and without advanced technique, all you have is good basics, which can't take you further then "Basics".

This form is great for beginning students learning how to use their martial arts for the first time, understanding how to block, punch, kick, step, and everything else that has to do with starting your training, remember again, I have to say this over and over, you have to have great basics in order to have great advanced technique.

Sifu Fiedler remembers going to the school where they taught this form of Hung Kuen, he could not believe when Grand Master Chow taught him techniques to defeat his own teachers at that school. Sifu Fiedler did not have to practise the techniques that GM Chow taught him either, he would go to the club that very next day, use the techniques, and it worked right away against the Hung Kuen. Sifu Fiedler could not believe it. it was truly an amazing revelation.

However after years of trial and error, and with the teachings of GM Chow, GM Tallbear, Sifu Fiedler started to see that it was a two edged sword, it was the same for the students who only learned advanced technique, they could not stand on their own two feet because their basics were terrible. All the while training only advanced techniques thinking they could cut corners, well my friends, there is no cutting corners in Kung Fu, only hard work, and a great teacher.
