Food and Chi

I have talked in many areas of cleaning out the baggage inside of our hearts, spirits and minds, to get rid of all negative feelings, jealously, hatred, to forgive people, and to always try hard to be the best person you can. Many people think that, "Chi", comes from some type of magic, or exercise, or form, and other. But it is a combination of many things. All of these things have to come together through time. As time goes by, your Chi starts to develop, and as it develops, you will notice the change in your energy, and in every aspect of your life. Food is one of the biggest, because we need to eat daily. So if that is the case, we have to find methods of eating good, and making sure to watch our intake of bad things for our bodies.

Exercise, mediation and breathing are also methods to gather and cultivate your chi. Food consumption is another way to develop chi. The content is very important, the quantity, the preparation, age and cleanliness of what we eat can directly hinder or enhance our internal energy flow. Food that is the youngest in age, has the greatest purity, prepared as simply as possible, and has traveled the least, will have the greatest abundance in energy. However food that is old, not indigenous, processed, and elaborately prepared is less likely to have good energy. Food requires varying degrees of energy to digest. The more energy that is used for digestion, the less energy is available for the productivity and chi cultivation. It is believed that salt, refined sugar, caffeine, alcohol, shellfish, and red meat demand more of the bodies energy to process. In fact, when starting meditation, or any energy cultivation exercise, some students will greatly reduce consumption of these foods for the first hundred days of their training.

Putting these restrictions on your diet sounds drastic and unreasonable. Very few students can go from poor eating habits to good eating habits and maintain the dietary discipline over the long haul. Instead it is best to do things gradual, just like when you start your training, you make sure to do things slow and easy. You do not push your body on the first night as hard as everyone that has been training for years, if you do, you will have a hard time to get out of bed the next day, at the same time, you might not want to go back again, because of the extra pain you have caused your body. This comes as a shock to your body if you have not trained in a very long time, it is the same with food. You have to start slow, and work your way up to good habits.

Instead of eating beef, eat chicken and fish. Instead of drinking pop, try drinking water, or juice. Or one of those drinks that athletes drink, especially if you loose a lot of sweat while you train. Instead of lightly salting your foods, do not salt your foods, the thing is, believe it or not, there is salt in just about everything. Instead of having a big steak, have a small piece of steak, share it with someone that wants to do the same as you. Eat more vegetables and have a little piece of meet and work you way down to having none. You do not have to eat meat every day. Open your mind and explore  healthier and different foods. Read the labels and look for simplicity. You will find that similar foods are made healthier by certain companies. Also, health food stores have many types of food that you can start to eat and cut down on your salt in take. Plus it will allow you to start avoiding foods like sugar, fats, salt, and others.

From Sifu Fiedler's notes, back in the 70s, when he started to do the meditations that GM Chow taught him, he had to eat a grape fruit every day at breakfast. Sifu Fiedler was told that the grape fruit has some type of acid in it that causes the brain to react in a very positive way while doing meditation. Sifu Fiedler says in his notes that as the days went by, he started to have a reaction, and it was totally amazing when his meditation started to work. Sifu Fiedler says that it was incredible, it was completely out of this world. He says that he would explain what happened in his travels, but what he was told many years ago, was that the rewards of meditation are different for every human. Also that every human has a gift from God that is completely different. Some people find that they are healers, never knowing that they could do this until that day that they started to have results from their meditations. This brings me to that saying that I love so much. It states'. " What good does it do for man or women to go through their whole lives and never ever understand the true power of their minds or bodies. Again what do you want from your life. Do you want to heal people, would you want to be a person who can see the future, or someone that can talk to animals, all of these things have been talked about throughout history. Now you know how to find these things, why not try it, why not change with in the next hundred days, starting tomorrow, make a list, of what you eat, how many times you meditate, and what you meditate about, every day when you are about to go to bed, write down everything that happened that day while in meditation, what you felt, how was your breathing, what came into your mind, how many times did you have to start over, write a fast note if you are busy, and a long one if you have time. I can guarantee that with in a few years, you will be the happiest person in the world for doing exactly this above.
