Basic Drills
Right leading horse stance, inside block, reverse punch walking forward. These drills are for anyone that is from white belt to green belt, and of course higher. How the higher belts keep up their training for their basic technique's is by teaching the beginners. That is the best way to always keep your techniques fresh in your mind and also develop them to come out like a rocket when you need them. Also there is a saying that goes "the sure way to find out if you know something is if you can teach it". In other words if you cannot teach a technique then you do not know it. This is why a blue belt should always be teaching a red belt, and a red belt should always be teaching a white belt, and of course with black belts at close hand so that the lower belt can always make sure they are teaching the technique properly. This is the best way to have a school run, you will find that some schools will not let students teach, the only reason for this is they do not want the student to get experience in teaching. This is not very good for any one, because in true essence it is best for a student that is only a few belts higher then a lower student to be teaching him or her. This way the higher student will catch all the finer movements of the technique right away and be a much better black belt and then full fledged teacher when they have a teaching degree that comes at third or forth degree black belt. Depending in the systems that you are in some do not allow you to be a teacher until you are a fifth, some at forth, some lower, it depends on the system. In ours it is at least third degree black belt when you achieve your teaching diploma. Which means that you can sign diplomas with your own signature then, over the Masters, signature. It takes three to four second and third degree black belts to test a black belt. This of course for quality control, of course also so that some instructors that get a chip on their shoulders do not go out start their own school and pretend to know what they are doing on their own. This happens more often then you would ever know, so make sure you shop around.
