Basement Club in Edmonton
Very first Basement training area Few months after starting his training, here Sifu Fiedler is training with his very first training partner, something he learned to value much more as his training kicked in. You need a partner as much as you need yourself, without a great partner, there will be no great you, that is why you must train with the same person for as long as you can. The longer the better for both of you.
First basement training area, that both GM Chow and Sifu Fiedler had for training
Sifu Fiedler after starting the Chinese Martial arts, this is where both Grand Master Chow and himself moved after living in apartment. It was great, we not only had a really neat basement area, we had an outside area to train kung fu.
Sihing Gus Gus was one of the nicest people you could ever meet, he came from down east also, and spoke French. He was a very good friend of Sifu Fiedler as well as student. Sifu Fiedler has many notes speaking of these guys in Edmonton, they were the first students he had on his own. He always before this time, taught for others, for Grand Master Tallbear, for Grand Master Chow, and for another master, but never before this time did he have his own students.
Less, Gus, Torus, and Dean Torus was a person who escaped from Russia when it was still communist. He jumped ship in Vancouver and they allowed him to move to Edmonton, that is how we met, he was a very nice individual. It is so strange meeting someone that is like you or me, and they come from Russia. You wonder why we are at war, why does Russia hate U.S.A. and why does U.S.A. hate Russia so much, they say that they might start a new arms race, well personally I think that they already have. Even China in on this, but for the life of everyone, are we not all humans, we should care about each other far more then we do. The more people I meet from all over the world, it makes me see that we are all alike, it matters not if you are from Siberia, or Alaska, or Fiji, or, or, and or again. People are people, we all want nothing more then to live in peace, our children to have something to eat. I can only hope and pray that some day war will be something people will only be able to read about in history books. There I had my say.
Gus and Sifu Fiedler Picture of Gus and Sifu Fiedler, these were the first private students of Sifu Fiedler, meaning it was his first students that he taught himself. These students did not go to the Hung Kuen school, nor did they go to GM Chow's school, they trained with Sifu Fiedler in his basement, for years while he was going back and forth to Vegas.
Guy in the yellow shirt, he got to his green belt. One day someone attacked him on the street, he punched the guy and the guys face ripped wide open, he stopped kung fu right then and there. that was really to bad when you think about it, but it happens. I have seen so much in the past forty years. The little guy in the blue shirt, is Rob, he was funny, and because he was so small, he was so fun to spar with, I would put a head gear on his head and kick him lightly, he would jump around trying to get away but there was no place to run in a basement, nine foot, by nine foot.
Basement club in Edmonton, this was taken, when Sifu Fiedler was going to Vegas all the time, when he came home to Edmonton for the three months he would be home, he would teach these students above, and also teach at GM Chow school in Edmonton
Tony Patterson and Less Ott, both excellent students of Sifu Fiedler in Edmonton, Tony Died of Cancer at twenty eight years of age.
Taros and Gus, going strong sparing with equipment for cardio
Another basement training area, in another area of Edmonton, different place, different students, different time.
Tony and Less Tony and Less, always did great together. Now look at the size of the basement, look at the walls, and look how close they are from each other. This will give you an idea of how small this area was. Now I have to tell you that this was one of the best places that we ever had. Why, it is not the place you train, it is the people. You can train in a six figure training area, with gold fixtures. However if the instructors are not good teachers, and the students do not get along, it really is not that nice at all. Then you can take a nine foot room, by nine foot, and have ten people training the martial arts at the same time, and it is one of the best places you have ever practised the martial arts.

Much more to fill in, and more pictures to come
