Standing on top of High Falls in Algonquin Park, when we were young Algonquin Park was the place to go for Speckled Trout. Many people to this very day go fishing in Algonquin Park, but if you really want to catch fish that are an incredible size, you have to go deep into the park by canoe. Remember to fill out a form to let the rangers know where you are going and when you are coming back, this is very important, if something happens, they will know when to start looking for you and where. Snapping Turtle

Algonquin Park has many Turtles, especially this one here the Snapping Turtle. Please be careful when near one. Don't allow children to try to pick one up, they can bite very fiercely. And remember this is not there fault you are in their habitat, so please drive careful when you see one of these beautiful turtles crossing the road. On the East side of Algonquin Park, is full of swamp land, and that is the best type of habitat for these most prized turtles.

Once up into the mountains, there are many rivers and streams of fast moving water

This lake in the Northern Part of Algonquin Park is filled with Trout, it is an amazing place to fish especially if Trout is the only type of fish you go fishing for. This lake is called North River Lake. And if anyone takes the time to go in, which is not an easy feat, but well worth the effort. Remember before going in, always tell the park staff where you are going and when you are coming out. Anything can happen, and not that it will, but just in case. People will always know where you are, and where to look if you do not come back at a certain time. This is very important, please listen because everyone says it will not happen to me, but accidents do happen, and they happen at the least time when you expect it.

This is basically what the drive will look like when going into the east gate. But as you keep going, you will start to get higher and higher, until you are out of the swamps and into the mountains.
