Pictures From early 80s Training for Vegas
Sifu Fiedler GM Chow Sifu Fiedler, GM Chow, training for Vegas, they were asked to put on a show in Vegas, televised all over the states, with television camera's all over the demo stage, it was wild, Sifu Fiedler said he could not believe the people when we went up on the stage to do the demo. There were camera's on the floor around us on tripods, and over our heads on these really cool drive on seats with the cameras fixed to it also. It was the first time Sifu Fiedler had seen a very large Televised stage, like it was here in Vegas, and he was so frightened. GM Chow as cool as a cucumber, but not Sifu Fiedler, he was shaking in his boots, as he told us, he had to keep remembering how to stay calm, breath in through his nose and out his mouth, and this way it relaxes us very quickly. Once he started with GM Chow, it was over right away, a half hour to forty minutes of demo, just GM Chow and Sifu Fiedler, and it took what seemed a few minutes. It was amazing. Not once after that Demo was Sifu Fiedler ever frightened again to stand in front of a large crowd, since that day it was easy for Sifu Fiedler to stand and talk in front of ten people, or a hundred or a thousand people, once he learned how to feed of of them, the more people, the better Sifu Fiedler would always do. In fact they both did so well, they were invited by the Southern Eagle and Mantis Grand Master anytime we wanted to come down. Both Sifu Fiedler and GM Chow started to go to Vegas all the time. As time passed, every time Sifu Fiedler and GM Chow kept going to Vegas, GM Chow would leave Sifu Fiedler with the other Grand Master, telling Sifu Fiedler it was ok for him to learn Southern Eagle and Mantis. So Sifu Fiedler started to train all the time with this new master, learning technique that was again very rare, very unique, and another martial art that was a very traditional martial art, and also it was totally amazing, just like GM Chow's Ying Yee was unique, this new system of Kung Fu was just as incredible. Sifu Fiedler started to teach at this school in Vegas for lessons, he taught classes and this new master would teach him more Eagle and Mantis, with in two years, Sifu Fiedler had a black belt in this art, with in three years he had a Sifu Degree in this art, reason being he also had two other Black sash and belts from GM Chow, because of that training it allowed Sifu Fiedler to jump ahead very fast. However Sifu Fiedler did say that it was one of the hardest arts he had to learn. He said he felt very clumsy at first, until he started to get the hang of throwing his hands out at one hundred miles an hour hitting targets like eyes, throat, nerve under ear, and nerve side of jaw, and solar plexus, last to the groin or bladder. These five points are hit with a technique called " Five Swords". The first time Sifu Fiedler seen this technique he started to laugh, it was not a funny laugh, it was a nervous laugh, the sound of the hits were like machine gun fire, it sounded exactly like a machine gun bullets hitting a target, it was truly profound he told us. and again it was a revelation. Once Sifu Fiedler worked hard for the rank of Boxer black, in this art it meant, "Sifu", which is a teaching degree. After that Sifu Fiedler kept on working on his Eagle and Mantis and twenty five years later Sifu Fiedler was awarded with a seventh degree black belt. In fact in 1993 one month before his accident, he went to Vancouver for his test to master instructor degree, the highest rank in GM Chow's art, Sifu Fiedler passed the test, and made it to Seventh degree black belt in Southern Eagle and Mantis.
These are four men in a group of twenty, all trained so hard it was absolutely amazing. Every time Sifu Fiedler would come back from Vegas, he would get these guys to go through the Southern Eagle and Mantis that he was learning down there. This so that when he went back to Vegas in three months, he would be ready to learn more. Sifu Fiedler did this for years with these guys in his basement. These next few pictures are the last private group Sifu Fiedler taught in Edmonton.
Another four, man in black top was Russian defector, this was before Russia split apart, he jumped ship in Vancouver Harbour, and came to Edmonton, his name is Taras, and he was one wonderful funny person. That is when Sifu Fiedler could not believe that no matter what side of the world, what kind of people, everyone wants the same, to bring up a family in peace, to have a good chance to make it with hard work. To think that Russia almost went to war with the world, and when you look and talk to someone like Taras, it truly makes you think. Why wars?

More Students in Vegas learning Southern Eagle and Mantis, all of the students were very polite and well versed in the martial arts, here are some lower belts that wanted to take a picture with Sifu Fiedler
Sifu Fiedler Master Mc Neil and Students. Sifu Fiedler with three excellent martial arts students. One on my right is a black belt in Shutokan Karate, the teacher to my left Master Mc Neil and his other student beside him.
One of our Black belt students in Bok Hok Pai, or I should say he came to us from a Bok Hok Pai style and wanted to learn more from GM CHow. GM Chow and Sifu Fiedler took Tony under their wings, because he always trained hard and was never a waist of time to teach.
Our pool outside where we stayed first time in Vegas. We also brought Mel with us, another martial artist from another style who was excellent in the arts, again he was not learning where he was after his teaching degree, so he came to GM Chow because of all the rumours of how he taught, it intrigued people to come and see for themselves, in time GM Chow and Sifu Fiedler had twenty black belts and sash students from other clubs in area.

GM Chow GM Chow starting to do weights, he bulked up so much, that within four to five years of meeting each other. When they met, Sifu Fiedler said that GM Chows wrists were twice as small as Sifu Fiedler's and Sifu Fiedler was not a large man. Five years and GM Chow was already larger then what Sifu Fiedler was when they first met.

GM Chow training on different type of dummy that is nailed to the wall. Three pads at different heights. This was a type that is used by some Choy Lay Fut stylists.
Another one of Sifu Fiedler's private students in Edmonton, David.
Sifu Fiedler on his way to BC Sifu Fiedler not only had to travel to Vegas every three months to live there for another month then go back home for another three months, and then back to Vegas for another month, this went on for years. He also had to Vancouver sometimes every week end from Edmonton to Vancouver in Sixteen hours one way. We used to leave on Friday and be back on Sunday. GM Chow and Sifu Fiedler used to visit other Ying Yi Masters and other Chinese Masters that GM Chow taught.
